Trained at the Temple of Fine Arts Malaysia and under Ustad Usman Khan, her practice spans over three decades of performance and teaching across continents. Her acclaimed productions, Hrdaya – Heartstrings and ASLI, weave together music, poetry, movement, and visual storytelling to create immersive, culturally rooted experiences. As an educator and creator, Kalpana continues to share the depth of Hindustani classical music while crafting evocative works such as Adya and Vamsha.
Laura Altman is a clarinetist, singer-songwriter, and exploratory musician based in Sydney on Gadigal-Wangal Country. Over the last couple of decades she has found herself deeply embedded in improvised music communities both local and global, as well as in more folk and song-adjacent musical worlds. In 2025 Laura released a debut solo CD 'Holy Trinity' featuring her intuitive approach to clarinet, underpinned by a curiosity with resonance and feedback. At this gig Laura will be sharing some songs with voice and guitar.
